Catherine Norton, known as Cathy “Nawton” (when spoken with the lovely, rich, and classic Boston accent) had a life full of family, friends, and innovation. She was always up for trying new things, which led to her becoming a leader in developing digital library tools, skills, and approaches. She was an advocate for open access: sharing data, tools, and ideas.
Cathy approached everything in her life with enthusiasm, making friends and inspiring others in every venue. She was always making connections between people, between ideas and between institutions. She was always ahead of the pack, seeing the next big thing and adopting the latest technology. She led naturally, forging the path ahead with curiosity and excitement.
